Let's work together and create something special just for your lil' one.
Meet the owner: I'm Rhonda Riley. I've been sewing and crafting for about 45 years and have created a wide variety of items during that time. My Mother taught me to sew, starting on an old treadle style Singer machine. I was fascinated with it and it wasn't long before we got our first electric sewing machine. My Dad mounted it into the old Singer cabinet and about that time I began sewing for myself, learning how to construct garments under my Mom's watchful eye. Mistakes galore were made and my Mom would rip the seams out and let me start anew, each time admonishing me to "lengthen your stitches". She was afraid that if I got bogged down in the work of ripping seams that I would lose interest and stop sewing. Much later in life, I found a husband that rips out my mistakes. Life is good!
In 1976 Mom bought an Elna sewing machine. I had never heard of those but I quickly learned to love that machine and when I left home for college, I took it with me. I still have it and use it almost daily. I made stuffed toys for my nieces, clothing for myself and my Mom, drapes and other window treatments, quilts, my wedding dress, couch covers, baby clothes for my Son, Halloween costumes, Anime' costumes with this machine. I'm sure there's a lot I've forgotten about. I've had it worked on exactly once in all that time. I can take it apart and oil it and it purrs like brand new. I think I understand a bit how guys get attached to first cars and never want to let them go. That's how I feel about my Elna.
I have always loved quilting. Quilting for babies lets me move quickly from one project to the next. The design and fabric selection are probably my favorite aspects of sewing. I am always looking for ways to implement a new idea.
I have a bachelors in Art and painting is one of my favorite art forms. I love the process of painting and I love seeing other people's work.
